Dear Jonathan Cook, many thanks for this article. I just bought your book related to this article. I agree with you: we should always think who win with this war. I mean the elite. However, I’d like to hear your opinion about AIPAC buying the USA representatives and senators during the election campaign. Besides AIPAC there are other ways of supporting Israel within the USA.

I'd say we're basically still fighting WWI, when the U.K. and France divided remnants of the Ottoman empire to bolster their own empires, including economic factors. While the Arabs and various other local ethnicities had no say whatsoever. Add that WWII came about mostly because of WWI. And the logical observation these same peoples of W. Asia get to pay for what W. Europe did to the Jews. Either directly or by ignoring what was going on since Euros and their colonist descendants didn't want to take in masses of Jewish refugees.
So now that the U.S. is the military enforcer of W. econ and political empire, the Anglophoney vassals cheer on this defense of "culture." The rest of W. Europe similarly--why else U.S. troops in Africa? The Enlightenment, the belief Euro rationality was synonymous with superior culture, is now seeing its Shadow in reaction. First noticed after WWI as shaping the Lost Generation and the observation the Enlightenment had died in the trenches. If so wonderful, why are so many western scientists and engineers employed to make ever more efficiently deadly WMDs? That isn't admirable; it's desperation. Would be entertaining if there weren't the threat of outmoded, declining empires resorting to nukes.

Note how the neocons and Zionists are patient. When faced with a setback, a military fuckup, a lost election, a politician who blurts the quiet part out loud, they don't throw up their hands and admit defeat "I guess you guys just won, fair and square..."
They regroup, try a different angle, rig the next election, they cheat or start the whispering campaigns.
