It’s shamefully true that the victims of one place and time can and sometimes do become the victimizers of another place and time. We saw this with Israel's decades-long serious abuse of Palestinians, and we’re especially seeing this with the atrocities committed against Palestine during the last few years.
Many human beings are perceived and treated as though they are literally disposable and, by extension, their great suffering and numerous deaths are somehow less worthy of external concern, sometimes even by otherwise democratic, relatively civilized and supposedly Christian nations.
It clearly is an immoral consideration of ‘quality’ of life and people, yet it is much easier for a conscience to allow when the victimized are essentially seen as an innately much lower lifeform who also look different from us.
Yet, disturbingly, there may be a potential monster deep down in all of us that, under the just-right circumstances, can be unleashed — and maybe even more so when convinced that ‘God is on our side’.
So the British Labour party..........and the working people of Great Britain are the losers and international Zionism the clear winner??
Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised. Capitalism does just fine, in fact it often thrives, on war, the death of innocents and the destruction of infrastructure, land, air and water. There's a neoliberal 'winner' class that will do just fine.
And were we not told, at the onset of neoliberal globalism, that 'there would be winners and losers'?? At least now its crystal clear who the losers are......and what those of us still hanging on to sustenance by our fingernails, need to do to stay safe.
Everyone I talk to says the same. At least here in Bristol we’ve got a green to vote for, we can only hope the left stop arguing and come together and vote green. Thanks for what you do, we’re going up to Elbit for the next demo.
Bristol should be sustainable, welcoming asylum seekers, cycling city….buy we host Elbit disgusting. BDSbarb
I blame middle class Labour voters. They were the ones so scared Corbyn would help the underclass and so desperate to be "right on" they bought into the anti-semitic bullshit. I hope everyone who turned on Corbyn dies screaming!
Nothing quite like starting out pessimistic; give the man a chance. I’m just glad Starmer has realised he’s not the one to beat the right whereas Burnham has proved he could just do it 🙏🏽
It's not about "pessimism". It's about holding politicians to account. If we keep giving them a free pass, because we want to be "optimistic", it ensures only that Labour will keep chasing rightwards, while the right keeps moving further to the far right. Why? Because both know that the left will always make do with vague, unfulfilled promises.
When you have to look away from state sponsored genocide to stay on the 'right' side of the law...........I'm of the opinion that there is no left left. Not really.
I'm also starting to wonder if we need new criteria for our political positions........right being increasingly so obviously on the wrong side of history....and left being so often confused with 'left out'...........might new terminology save us???
Personally, I prefer 'free market capitalists' and 'democratic socialists'....but there too, I suppose our reductive ways of thinking we think.......have muddied most waters. Not to mention that given those muddied waters, its pretty easy to render what's going on in Gaza both invisible and irrelevant.
Burham IS the right, in sheeps clothing. Is also a zionist and has had his chance - in his chance, he already said all the codewords for the zionists to understand that with him in place the genocide will roll on, with British government funding, arming and enabling it.
Ignoring the HOLOCAUST in gaza whilst talking about the Ukraine war that never needed to happen troubles me. The UK and its role in Cyprus is FAR from innocent. Actually its role has been pivotal and makes one wonder whether Ukraine was a distraction and designed to stop Russia from stopping the middle Eastern genocides
Josh Simon, the guy who wanted anti-genocide journalists monitored by the intelligence services, gave up his MP seat for Blairey Burnham.
James Purnell, hard-core LFI member, is his chief of staff!
With these people on his 'side', there's not the remotest possibility that Blairey will do anything about Labour support for the Gaza Genocide.

He’s a Northern Starmer, ffs!

Zionist and Fabian...doesn't get much worse than that.

What on Earth can we possibly do?
Thanks for the summary. Once you know your are guilty of not acting.
My expectations on Burnham having the courage to stand against the Genocide in Gaza are so low, they don't exist.
This is shown by the 'toady' response given .
All lip service did nothing during height of continued genocide.
