An Update from the Heart of the Night.

Last night was not an ordinary night.

We stayed awake until very late — not because we wanted to, but because sleep has become a luxury we no longer have. We sat in heavy silence, waiting for an unknown fate, and with every explosion that shook the walls, our hearts shook with it.

The sound of tanks was close… very close.

We could hear their movement clearly, as if they were passing right beside our window.

But we cannot move. We cannot turn on lights. We cannot even raise our voices. Everything must stay low… even our whispers, even our breathing.

We tried to give the children a normal night.

We closed the windows tightly, held them close, and told them the sounds were far away, that everything would be okay.

But with every explosion, they woke up crying.

Their small eyes searching our faces for safety… while we try to draw calm on faces that do not feel it.

Maybe these words have become familiar.

Maybe they sound like the repeated news that quickly passes on screens.

But for us, this is not news.

This is our day. Our night. Our life — every single day.

In the middle of all this, we try to hold on to very small things…

Things that give us a reason to smile, even for a moment.

Hala, for example… we recently discovered how much she loves colors.

She sits quietly, holding her crayons, completely absorbed in coloring — as if she is building her own world, a world where there are no explosions.

Every day she asks to learn new words, practices her numbers with excitement, and tells us she wants to go to kindergarten.

She imagines her little backpack, her friends, a normal school day.

Such simple dreams… yet to us, they are treasures.

And Kareem… he is about to get his first little teeth 🥹

We see his tiny gums swelling and wait for that new smile that will soon show those first white teeth.

In the middle of shelling, we find ourselves laughing because “Kareem is teething”… as if life insists on reminding us that it is still here, despite everything.

We are trying to protect them — not only from danger,

but from fear.

From growing up believing that the whole world sounds like war.

Your support and love truly reach us.

They are not just words — they are real strength.

Because of you, we can buy food for our children, keep them inside a home instead of cold tents, and offer them a little stability in the middle of chaos.

We love you.

And we ask you… please do not forget us.

Share our story. Tell everyone you know that there is a family simply trying to live — just to live.

There are pains that time does not erase…

But there is also love that war cannot extinguish. 🤍

My comment was removed as too challenging, I suppose! This flagrantly biased piece gave full, unremediated airtime to Israel's UK Zionist lobby mouthpieces with few scraps for the reality of so much that could have been presented by so many authoritative voices, all ignored by Ch4!
