After 37 years of following politics and global affairs, it still bewilders me how some politicians live with themselves, let alone sleep well at night and even attend religious services in good conscience — especially those faiths that teach utmost compassion and charity.

____

Politics is ‘the art of compromise’

politics at its moral peak

though this moral peak

indeed lies below a dead sea’s level,

but the compromise of ethics

and integrity is politics at

its moral natural state

—a state in which the media beast

must be fed, will feast from

the politicians’ tin can

filled with naught but the spin man

of the political animal.

Re: "Hey, it's a living." ... Due to the risks involved, I’ve always respected foreign correspondents and especially admired those covering active war zones. Nevertheless, I feel that too much of contemporary ‘journalism’ seems motivated more by a paycheck and publication (a buck and a byline) than a genuine strive to expose thus challenge the corrupt powerful who abuse/exploit those with the least in this increasingly unjust global existence.

Also, while journalism’s traditional fundamental function is/was to “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable,” to a noticeable degree there seems to have been a redefining, or even a reversal, as to what/who constitutes an “afflicted” and “the comfortable”.

Journalists with genuine integrity should/would tender their resignations and even publicly proclaim they can no longer help propagate their employer’s media product, whether it involves self-censored/missing coverage of a brutally-lopsided foreign war or that of domestic corporate corruption that will harm the populace.

It’s their ethical/moral duty to publicly reveal the compromised news-media product and therefor its facilitator. By doing so, such brave journalists can at least then also proclaim they will no longer participate in its creation and/or dissemination.

There's been too many cases of employees in various employment fields not standing up and doing what is necessary for the public and/or human(e) good, instead excusing themselves with something like: ‘I need this job' or 'but I have a family to support’. ... Unless they were actually forced into coupling, copulating and procreating however many years earlier, such familial obligation status does not actually ethically or morally justify their willing involvement.

Just as the allies had to go to war against Germany in order to stop the Nazis, we will have to go to war against Judaism in order to stop the Jewish Zionists.

Israel is allowing western governments to reintroduce the idea that racism is right. Their support for a racist regime, engaged in a racist ethnic cleansing, via a racist genocide, via racist atrocities and war crimes, all based on the racist idea that some lives - ie, Israeli - matter more than any other, can only be interpreted as support for racism. However, it is being so sneakily done, no-one ever talks about it. The genocide is always framed, by its supporters, as a reaction to resistance, the brutal need to stamp out the victim of racism's rebellion against it. Hamas is a symptom of racism. And yet, western governments side with the racists. Even Arab governments seem to: where is their reaction to the Israeli assertion that all Arabs are mere 'subhuman animals'? racism is alive, and well, and thriving unchallenged in Israel. Unchallenged, with a few brave exceptions, pretty much anywhere in the west. Do as your government does: discriminate today. Murder people, steal their land. But only if they're the newly allowable category: untermenschen. Only if they're the 'subhuman animals'. Because, as far as the west's concerned, although racism is now okay, one category isn't. It's called anti-Semitism. It is used relentlessly as a weapon to silence criticism of Israel, and the West's, racist genocide. Incredibly, in their drive to make racism okay again, it's supporters have even found a way to make anti-racism evil.

Israel's government and IDF have deliberately used starvation, among other horrors, against Palestinian non-combatants as a part of its ongoing campaign. There have been photos published by legacy news-media of foreign aid trucks with urgently needed food okay-ed by Israeli security yet still made to park idly for days. It’s not hard for a conscience to do when one considers another an innately lower lifeform.

Living, breathing human beings can be — and actually are presently being — perceived and treated as though they are disposable and, by extension, their suffering and death are somehow less worthy of external concern, sometimes even by otherwise democratic and relatively civilized nations. It’s even easier for a conscience to do when one considers another an innately lower lifeform.

A somewhat similar reprehensible inhuman(e) devaluation is observable in external attitudes, albeit perhaps on a subconscious level, toward the daily civilian lives lost in prolongedly devastating war zones and famine-stricken regions.

In other words, the worth of such life will be measured by its overabundance and/or the protracted conditions under which it suffers; and those people can eventually receive meagre column inches on the back page of the First World’s daily news. It’s an immoral consideration of ‘quality of life’.

With each news report of the daily death toll from some unrelenting bombardment somewhere in this troubled world, I feel a slightly greater desensitization and resignation. I’ve noticed this disturbing effect with basically all major protracted conflicts internationally since I began regularly consuming news products in 1987.

Furthermore, it's sadly and even shamefully true that, while some peoples have been brutally victimized throughout history a disproportionately large number of times, the victims of one place and time can and sometimes do become the victimizers of another place and time. And it’s even easier for a conscience to do when one considers another an innately lower lifeform.

"Israel is allowing western governments to reintroduce the idea that racism is right." Rod, this is a ridiculous statement. Do you really believe that Israelis are inside the USA and convincing our government and society to commit genocide? It's not Israel. It's Judaism, which maintains a tremendous US Jewish Lobby, which in turn is comprised of the US Jewish leaders of 400 US Jewish political organizations that are funded to the billions of dollars by the US Jewish community and Israel. This Lobby isn't concerned only with Israel, but also with many other Jewish political concerns. Please read the following list and come to an objective understanding of the significance of this list:

https://iwasathought.substack.com/p/the-jewish-lobby

This list is the data that proves the undeniable fact of existence of Political Jew Power in the USA. It's the smoking gun, and all respectable journalists need to address the fact of it.

The simple point is: it is impossible to support Israel without supporting racism. Western governments can only support Israeli racism if they're racist themselves. This seems a fundamental, inescapable, blindingly-obvious fact, yet nobody's saying it. No-one's a saying 'we can't do that - it's racist'. And, if governments are going back to the old idea that some people are worth more than others, how un-civilising is that? How racist? How divisive? After all, every religion teaches its followers that they are special. That they are the uniquely beloved of their god, and therefore have every right to look down on all the other heathen wrong believers and 'subhuman animals'. If their superstition makes Israelis special, what about all the other religitards? Perhaps, though it means the same, I should have written 'Israel is allowing western governments to reintroduce the idea that only some lives matter'?

Rod, you did not address my comment. You wrote a paragraph of obfuscation, typical of what Jews do. Come back with a direct address to what I said and maybe we can talk.

Genocide will never be normalised, those responsible are bound to drown on the blood they have spilled.

History will never forgive the viciousness and brutality of the supremacists, nor will it ever forget the strength of a people, which under the most brutal and relentless bombardment and military occupation known in world’s history, stood up to the monsters which wanted to destroy them for to steal their homes.

Palestine is and will forever be Palestine.

Thank you for sharing
