It's no surprise that the allegedly spontaneous rant at the UN by Trump about the climate crisis being a con was during the same event where Netanyahu was walked out on by the Global South for genocide in Gaza. It's all connected. The US wants to divide the environmentalists from the petrol heads. They want to smear those in the Global south calling for peace and climate action. Thunberg sees this connection.

The US wants hot war between between whites (and Asian and Arab vassals) and everyone else. He wants the Western countries like the UK to reverse reverse colonialism and have governments that will enforce this with might. The US deep state says white is right.

I have been grieving so long for the horrors forced on the people of Palestine, who have done nothing wrong to anyone but live in the country of their ancestors. Never had the invaded another people to take their land, instead they lived peacefully while sharing Palestine with many people with different religions without any interference on how they worship their deity, until along came the most violent debased religion of any, and how they have shown the world what evil deity they worship.

I grieve that they are allowed to exist while burning babies alive in their rapist religion that hates everyone, even their own.

We the humans ,the remaining once of us ,we are griewing and being angry and feeling helpless and feeling outrage and desbelive with you for the last 2 years . And yes there are monsters devoid of empathy and any human feeling otherwise how would they be capable of doing what they are doing just for money and power . If any one can explain how can one be a human with feelings and be able to enable and support and aprticipate in this Hollocast ,I be happy ,so I can finally undertand why is this alowed to happen

I agree wholeheartedly with every word. Except the last one. There are no ‘human animals’. There are no ‘monsters’. We are all one family. And branding anyone a ‘monster’, or anything any less that wholly human, as wholly human as you or me, is the first step towards the next genocide. So I think your piece is wonderful. And your reporting and insights are illuminating and powerful. But no - not the last word - there are no ‘monsters’. No. Never Again.

Agreed. The silicon bands are available online at modest cost. They're sold as a dozen for less than ten dollars. One can give them to like-minded friends. This idea 'has legs' and can go global fast.

The old 'each one teach one' adage comes to mind. Substitute 'each one reach one.'

Thankyou for reminding me that our grief is valid, not something to hide in shame. I will not!

Jonathan, you have put the mind grief of most of the world so perfectly - thank you so very much. Thank you too to all the Arrested - you are doing it for the rest of us as well

Tricia, your comment is courageous and well said. I ring with your sentiments. You speak of the COWARDICE and placatory language used by those in power in Western countries, in not challenging Genocide in Israel and in wishing to appease or discourage any speaking out against this in the context of public protest.

The idea of a Two State Solution is, you say, never going to happen….presumably because there is little chance of there being a strong independent Palestinian government that is not linked to

Hamas? Or at least, one that is strong enough to break free off any links to it?

Perhaps it may overshadow the possibility of contact and talks with Israel if that were ever possible, brokered by a strong team of expert negotiators from a variety of countries and not one sponsored by Trump or any other partisan group????

Something as to give ….

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WOMEN FROM ALL COUNTRIES INVOLVED AND EVEN THOSE ON THE SIDELINES’ - MET - TO TALK AND DISCUSS THEIR THOUGHTS AND IDEAS AND EXPERIENCES OF THE WAR ON IN PALESTINE?

WHAT IF POLITICS ARE PUT ASIDE FOR A FEW HOURS/DAYS AND THIS COULD BE MADE POSSIBLE? WHAT IF WOMEN SHARED THEIR THOUGHTS ON WAR, HUNGER, THE LOSS OF THEIR CHILDREN AND THOSE IN PALESTINE AND ISRAEL?

WHAT IF? WHAT ARE WE SCARED OF?

Why are you siding with Israel re Hamas being not allowed, by ousiders, to be the government of Palestine - if that is what Palestinians want. Has anyone even thought to ask what they want? No, you just follow the rhetoric of people who think they can act on Palestine's proxy government without any input from he people whose lives you have already ruined and, now think you are the ones to again rule their lives to suit your self-important whims.

"I grieve for the death of my last illusions. The illusion that a civilised society treats all life as precious. The illusion that a civilised society, so that it stops recycling history’s worst atrocities. The illusion that our society is civilised."

A civilised society would be one that ".. treats all life as precious" and one that "..learns from history..".

Your final point, that our western neofeudal corporate cart€£$ of Mars-worshipping global pi££ag€ idiot$ are civilised, is the i££U$ion of Ang£o-$axon mass transgenerational indoKKKtrinated supremacism is the one that is hard to crack.

Gandhi nailed it nicely when a £ondon reporter asked him what he thought of British civilisation and he replied that it would seem like a timely idea (that ain't verbatim, look it up yourselves and tweak it straight).

Thank you for publicly naming what our ruling class wants suppressed. 🫣
