During Netanyahu’s visit, Trump dropped Washington’s sugar coating of Israel’s 15-month genocidal destruction of Gaza. This was always about ethnic cleansing
I prepose that all the inhabitants of Gaza be allowed to emigrate to the USA or UK, made citizens, given free housing, schooling, medical care and all adults be given employment with good paying jobs!
I am an Indian from India. I have subscribed to Jonathan's posts through my son as I don't have an " on-line payment" app.
A few days back I sent a comment that reading about the mass killing of Palestinians by Israelis and its abetting by the US- NATO just made me sick. I said make a gesture that you turn your back on the entire Western society and start living in South Africa. Then rub it in. The Western Society at large is also guilty. I don't know why my earlier post was not posted.
My god the thought of the rich white people lying on their sun loungers on top of all the dead bodies that were slaughtered by the landlord. The Rivera Graveyard. How fucking disgusting. What kind of depraved people would even consider holidaying or living there knowing it’s history. The ghosts of slaughtered Palestinians would be in every grain of sand, every splash of water, every bite of food. The DNA of the murdered babies and children would be in the very air they would breathe. The thought of booking a trip to a hotel in hell is revolting.
Imagine building a new Las Vegas on top of Auschwitz? It’s so overwhelmingly disrespectful, morally reprehensible and outrageous.
I have to agree with you that the very thought of it is unimaginably reprehensible to me. The fact that an idea like that can be voiced in public without any scruples or any sympathy for what people had to endure speaks volumes about the current zeitgeist.
Jonathan, I found this particular analysis of what’s happening pretty enlightening and different. Any thoughts on the below anyone?
Point of Order
By: Mona Hawwa
🔹 Can Trump annex Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal? Can he forcibly displace Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza?
The clear answer: No.
But does this mean that merely discussing these ideas has no impact? Also no.
What Trump and Netanyahu are doing is not just political rhetoric; it is a calculated strategic maneuver designed to create an illusionary reality—one where the impossible becomes a topic of debate and the unfeasible appears as a plausible scenario.
This is not improvisational politics; it is a deliberate approach rooted in political and media theories aimed at reshaping public perception and pushing opponents into a defensive stance rather than allowing them to remain on the offensive.
Understanding Their Discourse:
1️⃣ Smoke and Mirrors Theory: Transforming Illusions into Media Realities
This strategy revolves around generating a massive media spectacle around an unfounded concept to divert attention or achieve hidden objectives.
🔹 How is it applied here?
• Repeatedly discussing Palestinian displacement, despite its impossibility, is not meant to suggest its feasibility but to make it a subject of discussion rather than outright rejection.
• Shifting the discourse from Israel’s military failure in Gaza to a debate on “Where will the Palestinians go?”—as if their departure is inevitable and the only dispute is over the destination.
• Positioning targeted states (Egypt, Jordan, the Gulf countries) as if they are negotiating a deal, rather than categorically rejecting the notion from the outset.
🔹 The outcome?
• The public begins to perceive forced displacement as an option under discussion rather than an outright war crime.
• Arab and international actors are forced to issue denials and clarifications, putting them in a defensive position and inadvertently giving the narrative undeserved credibility.
• The core issue shifts from “Should Israeli aggression be stopped?” to “What are the possible alternatives for Palestinians?”—which is precisely the intended outcome of this deception.
2️⃣ Flood the Zone Theory: Controlling the Narrative Through Chaos
This strategy relies on overwhelming the media and public discourse with a torrent of statements and proposals—regardless of their feasibility—to dominate the political narrative.
🔹 How do Trump and Netanyahu employ this tactic?
• Trump frequently makes sweeping statements about grand plans—forced displacement, border walls, sanctions, and travel bans—even when he knows they are unworkable.
• The goal is to overwhelm the media and opposition, making it impossible to respond to every claim or expose every contradiction.
• Netanyahu, politically besieged due to military failures, resorts to issuing dramatic and repeated threats—not because he can execute them, but to keep everyone in a reactive mode instead of scrutinizing his crimes and failures.
🔹 The result?
• Media and the public are trapped in an endless cycle of responding to new statements, rather than focusing on the fundamental reality: Israel has failed militarily, and Trump is engaging in media maneuvering.
• The louder the noise, the easier it becomes to push through dangerous policies under the cover of chaos.
3️⃣ Manufacturing Consent: The Power of Repetition in Normalization
This strategy hinges on the relentless repetition of ideas until they become familiar, gradually reducing public shock and fostering passive acceptance.
🔹 How does this happen?
• A few months ago, the forced displacement of Palestinians was an outrageous notion. But now, due to repeated statements, it is being debated in media as if it were one among several legitimate options.
• This goes beyond repetition; the same idea is disseminated through multiple channels—American statements, Israeli threats, media leaks, and strategic analyses—until it appears inevitable.
• This tactic was used before in the Iraq War, where the myth of weapons of mass destruction was transformed from a falsehood into a war pretext through relentless repetition.
🔹 The result?
• Forced displacement becomes a topic on the table, even if Arab and international rejection remains strong.
• The debate shifts from “Is this possible?” to “What is the best way to implement it?”—which is precisely the goal of Trump and Netanyahu.
⚠️ Conclusion:
This is a highly dangerous development—not because Trump and Netanyahu can execute their plans, but because they are succeeding in making people consider them plausible.
🔹 The real threat is not their ability to implement their agendas, but their success in framing them as debatable possibilities.
🔹 The response must go beyond rejection—it must refuse to even entertain such ideas as a legitimate political discussion.
🔹 Avoid the trap of responding to every contradictory statement or media maneuver; instead, remain focused on the fundamental truth: this is a deliberate deception aimed at deflecting attention from Israel’s failures and creating false political pressures.
🚨 Remember:
• Threats are not plans—they are bargaining chips. Trump and Netanyahu’s goal is to turn the impossible into contingencies, and this manipulation must be exposed and countered at every turn.
A certain "most exceptional" nation has by itself burned through any remaining meaning of The Holocaust, and shockingly, this, by its supposed victims.
I agree... Interestingly, I went to see the film The Brutalist last week but found myself unable to watch it simply because it tells the story of someone who has survived the Concentration Camps.. and I realise I've become allergic to this particular Jewish narrative... Perhaps unfair to many really good Jewish descendents but I'm sick to death of all the WWII Holocaust porn.. when there is no balancing concern with the current genocide..
Exactly, thank you. Several points to consider. This is a self-inflicted wound for the Jewish and israeli establishment (they no longer deserve a capital “I”). It didn’t need to be so; if they themselves had learned the lessons that they preach to all other peoples about the horrors of The Holocaust, they would not have committed the exact same atrocities. But by convenient mental gymnastics, they refuse to acknowledge that they have committed a genocide and ethnic cleansing. The “weaponization” of The Holocaust has been well described in Chris Hedges recent posts. This was employed to gain influence in Western nations and help fund the israeli colonization of Palestine. The biggest ploy was - “you have to be sorry for us because…” I’m sorry, that script no longer plays.
It’s the spirit of the Far West on steroids. The history of the daredevil hero told by the Westerns with a disdain for the law and god on his side but now with intelligent kit that can kill many in one second and earthquake bombs that can reduce civilisations to rubble in one strike. It’s now turned into a grotesque Western version of Fellini’s Satyricon. The characters play up their most vile nature to an eager public that has lost its balance, expectant of the next obscene barbarity. It’s an interactive play in which the spectators surrender the conventions that had made society half-work for nearly a century. Expensive entertainment.
Nothing of any lasting value can be repaired until at least a truth and reconciliation process is completed over the coming years, and offenders punished. We in a previous apartheid state have waited for compensation for three decades...
There is blood on the hands of all who have supported and funded and made excuses for and passed along misrepresentations about and outright fictions spread, twisted reports and biased accounts of the ethnic cleansing suppressed at the hands of the occupier colonialistic, apartheid-perpetuating self-declared and western nation funded country calling itself Israel....where no pretense or attempts at subtlety any longer exist. Those who have remained silent, complicit, passively unmotivated to utter even a word of protest of disgust, of contempt for the "great lies" or sadness for the utterly unthinkable and horrific treatment of a once pluralistic indigenous people where multiple ethnicities and religious practices were able to co-exist and simpler, more humane communities thrived -- the defeat of the Ottoman Empire and the subsequent, multi-staged "redevelopment & resettlement" (a prelude to the great reset now underway worldwide) campaign(s) conducted in Palestine, now spreading like the cancer it is to other areas earmarked for "greater israel" is a warning for the rest of the world -- resist what you are being told is inevitable, unsavory, inhumane, and unjust, and what has occurred before our eyes in the middle east for several generations now, culminating in this brutal genocide in Gaza will come to your town....it may already be underway as they've now had years to perfect the official line while they proceed with the demolition, reclamation and redevelopment to suit the globalist's ambitions and plans. The plundering and the elimination of unwanted people is not nearing an end -- it is being launched and this is ground zero for a worldwide reconfiguration with massive casualties and untold trillions of dollars (more) transferred to the wealthy overlords who orchestrate this like chess pieces on a global board. Politics can't save us - they've been compromised. Weapons of mass destruction are now nano scale and combatants are being shot with needles, geoengineered particulate toxins (contaminated food, water, soil, plants & animals) and bathed in electromagnetic frequencies while their every thought, move and activity is monitored, analyzed, added to massive databases and experiments are updated on the digital twins in the worldwide simulation universe so that they can then be translated into the physical universe in preparation for the imposition of the virtual one -- the perfect digital prison that will encompass the remaining world's population the kinetic wars may also continue, but these 5th generation tactics are already afoot in a largely unsuspecting, completely unaware and otherwise distracted populace. Gaza will soon be a piece of history to be rewritten (as it is not already in process) and the extermination of the free world becomes the the next battle front to be conquered and reconfigured to suit its owners....look around, we are already in the midst of that fight for our lives. Continued silence and complicity will only speed their progress and ensure their victory.
Trumps perspective on the Gaza crisis is wholly contemptible. Blowing off the horrific consequence of this fully declared genocide, he comes along as the businessman’s emotionless advocate of I “clearing up”the mess he sees as Gaza with a capitalist makeover and a reasonable solution to relocate the remaining Palestinians to Egypt or Jordan, two states who’ve said they will not accept any massive influx of refugees on any basis. So what sort of impetus will Pres Trump offer to “persuade “these states to accept his reasonable solution??
You are 100% correct, Jonathan. I agree with your assessment. No option remains. The Israel-U.S. axis is determined to have the land called Gaza. The Oligarchs are impatient for the Greater Middle East Plan's fulfillment.
The huge shipment of two-ton bombs which was held up and is now being shipped to Israel will complete the task. I believe 2,500-3,000 are being shipped? Two-ton bombs can kill humans within a 1,200 foot radius. From a NYT article:
"About 40 percent of each one’s weight is composed of a high explosive mixture; the rest comes from its steel case. When detonated, the bomb’s smooth skin shatters into razor-sharp fragments that can shred human bodies and unarmored vehicles alike.
Course guides used in teaching American troops how to call in airstrikes state that anyone within 115 feet of a 250-pound bomb’s impact has a 10 percent chance of being incapacitated or killed. That lethal radius jumps to nearly 600 feet for a one-ton version that explodes just above the ground."
Does anyone wonder that the true death count will never be told? How do you count shredded bodies?
Mind you the whole of Israel has been built on the dead bodies of Palestinians - this isn't a new phenomenon... sadly.
I prepose that all the inhabitants of Gaza be allowed to emigrate to the USA or UK, made citizens, given free housing, schooling, medical care and all adults be given employment with good paying jobs!
Compelling and horrifying read.

This was never a war.
With a powerful force on one side and a small group on the other.
