Corporate media doesn't represent humanity's interests. It promotes the interests of billionaires and their hangers-on, who make huge profits from a war machine in constant need of excuses to kill
Johnathon Cook, it is not just a supposedly leftist paper like The Guardian that has been sounding the drumbeats for war against Iran.
.
For the last month, during which the CIA, the Mossad and MI6 have been conducting their insidious False Flag operation with Iran, attempting to foment an insurrection by reportedly burning down hundreds of Mosques and Fire Stations and Ambulances, and assassinating over a thousand police officers {shades of exploding pagers, anyone?}, Democracy Now, and Amy Goodman – who claim to be progressives – to my everlasting horror, has insisted on reporting these events by repeating the Empire’s propaganda that it is the State of Iran that is propagating the violence against their own people.
Ah, the Guardian- the rightwing paper for leftwing people. And therein consists its value to the intelligence services, the military, to the U.S. war machine, to Israel and to capitalism itself. Due to an absence of competition among mainstream sources for a socialist readership, this wretched counterfeit has become a sort of consolation prize shoved at progressive readers. These days it's just full of recipes, sex advice, celebrity interviews and lifestyle garbage reflecting the tastes of its editors- the domestic trappings of a bloodthirsty imperial agenda.
Well said. It's not just the Guardian, or the BBC, both of whom have been very closely associated with MI5 for many years. (In fact at one time MI5 used to have an office in Broadcastling House). Those media outlets that are not directly owned and controlled by the latter day robber barons are just managed on their behalf by the puppet state authorities. With the rise of social media and citizen journalism using smartphones, their credibility ia collapsing. First we were told that any dissenting voice was a mad, bad 'conspiracy theory'. You could supposedly trust the corporately funded 'fact-checkers'. Then as their Orwellian nature became obvious to all, they suddenly disappeared, to be replaced by that automated misinformation generator, AI, whose purpose is to confuse everyone to the extent that no-one can believe anything anymore. At the same time, the social media have become increasingly desperate to enforce the 'post truth' society - the 'facts' still being whatever Elon Musk and his mates say it is.
Fortunately artificial intelligence is not real intelligence at all. As has always been true with computing, it is 'garbage in, garbage out'. And when AI and algorithms are now used blatantly (and desperately) to force us to believe lies are truth they come up against real human intelligence - intelligence of the living heart rather than the machine.
So, Musk took over Twitter and there was a mass move to Bluesky. US billionaires have taken over TikTok and there is a mass exodus. And yesterday it's goodbye from me to Facebook after they finally silenced me. Alternatives are available.
The truth is that totalitarianism, techno-fascism, is unsustainable. It cannot deliver anything worthwhile at all. It is getting more and more desperate to prove that might is right, but as we are seeing with Trump, it's going nowhere. Trump no longer even tries to pretend his violence is for anyone's benefit but his own. It means that everything he does and says now will dig him and his friends and string-pullers into a deeper hole from which there is no escape. And the same applies to the media too corrupt and too afraid to speak out. Whether that is the traditional media or the social kind.
Might is not right, and artificial intelligence is no match for the real kind. The idea of a 'unipolar' world is obvious nonsense. Ecosystems do not work like that. The planet is not a computer that can be switched off and on again at will.
The internet and its opportunities for ordinary people, across the whole planet, to hear and be heard, cannot be centrally controlled. A revolution is happening even greater than the arrival of printing in the 16th c. Thousands of years of 'power over' people and planet, exercised by the exclusive possession of technologies of various kinds are almost over. All the missiles, chemical, biological, electronic, psychological weapons in the world cannot defeat the human spirit. The US (and its puppet regimes) should have learned that by now, after losing every war they have started since 1945. And even the 2nd World War victory is mainly down to the Russians ...
Hardly surprising that Grauniad and their most reactionary editor ever, Katherine Viner, support the notion of a war against Iran given their trajectory over the last 15 or so years. It's also worth noting that they have still not published ANYTHING about Craig Murray's very important interim victory in the Scottish courts which has resulted in a forth-coming judicial review of the banning of Palestine Action (although they do have a piece about 'swift-bricks' in Scotland!!!!). Check Craig's post here: https://craigmurrayorg.substack.com/p/palestine-action-judicial-review
There is no justification to sit in a warm newsroom and opine on countries you have never visited, and on a people you do not know. The Guardian beat the war drums on Iraq too with its ill researched WMD stories.
Enough the slaughter and barbarity. No one in their right mind should be supporting the Trump/Netanyahu agenda. The pair are evil.
I send this to my friends who still read the guardian! They have a few decent articles about climate or NHS and the readers believe the lies on the front page…worse than the other Tory rags. BDSbarb
After reading today, I unsubscribed from The Guardian.
There’s no way out except a grass-root political movement and a revolution
Colour me shocked!
I have a "new" concept for foreign intervention.
Stepping outside ones governing jurisdtion with the intent to govern the DOMESTIC policy of another state.
FOREIGN policy is another concern is its the reverse role in play (or maybe roles) of a state threatening your DOMESTIC policy
I hope explained that right.
It is on that BASIS I claim FDR as at fault.
Hawaii was not part of FDR's government jurisdiction in a valid contractual way
In fact an APOLOGY RESOLUTION was drawn up by the U.S.
No words suffice - I'm borrowing loosely from T.S.Eliot.
They are "The hollow men, leaning together, headpiece filled with straw"
The insane will rule the Game. NOT --- Take out your local Gov as they are your immediate threat

A very good and clear clarification..Thanks
Thank You Jonathan

The Guardian proved its colours when it helped demolish Corbyn. I expect nothing more from them but well-spotted and thanks for your hard work.

The "Guardian" has no ethics seeking peace. War means bigger return? Shame
