It was never about primitive hate. Not even about religion.

Hate was added later. As a tool. As a narrative. As emotional fuel.

The plan came first.

The system came first.

The Holocaust wasn’t the origin it was the opportunity.

An opportunity to frame the myth of eternal threat.

An opportunity to morally recruit an entire people.

An opportunity to silence all dissent with the word antisemitism.

If it were just irrational hate, we couldn’t fight it.

But a system has a structure.

And structure can be exposed. Dismantled. Cut off.

That’s what makes this so dangerous and so important.

The crime was not born from trauma.

It used trauma as a license.

This was the plan all along. Well; They can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some of the time; but they cannot fool all the people all the time. Period

Thank you for another very interesting and very sad article on the vial genocide being committed in Gaza. I never imagined evil could be so repulsive. I hate our leaders and those complicit in this land theft, murder and starvation. I will continue to protest and do all I can. Thank you Jonathan.

"Thanks" Jonathan. Another brilliantly written piece which is so very informative.

What a shit situation post WWII generations, including my own have allowed successive over avaricious leaders to sleep walk civil society into.

I am sick of it.

Do they really really really not understand the rage of a nation erased? This is where lack of empathy will come back to chomp on their a**holes. Millions of pro Palestinians from outside of Western Asia – let’s just say all of them– have never experienced a genocide, but to the degree that we _can_ empathize and imagine, it’s enough to produce a burning rage, resentment, a desire for retribution. And we’re not there. Imagine then the fire inside Palestinians who survive it. If they lose Palestine, they won’t stop being Palestinians, and in a few years they’ll make 9/11 look like fairy powder. Again and again and again. They’ll target those they believe most responsible – just as Israel targets those most endangering their genocidal program –first. They’ll become righteous assassins. Good god! Why on earth would they not?

Jo Waller's avatar

Hi, interesting, leaving aside that 9/11 was allowed/arranged/competely faked to justify the War on Terror and that Al Queda and ISIS have been funded and armed by the US to do their dirty work in various countries, I don't see the displaced Palestinians becoming organised or violent. I see Israel eventually crumbling along with the Western hegemony- but I think the climate and agricultural crises will be hitting hard and severely affecting the whole world before that happens.

Susan Pagac's avatar

I think you’re right. And I agree that the U.S. knew of 9/11 beforehand, encouraged it and allowed it. But from what I’ve read, and I’m certainly not an expert on 9/11, the people carrying it out did have a grievance against the U.S. and the west. A legitimate one, regardless of what one thinks about their tactics for redress. Even as I was writing the words that suggested Palestinians, in the face of total displacement from Palestine, in the wake of the most brutal injustice ever suffered, would become a vigilante tribunal, the realistic part of my mind said no: they will never do this, it’s not in them. It is in me. But not them. And who can really imagine what acts the victims of history’s worst, nearly impossible-to-imagine holocaust will decide to carry out. For me it’s difficult to think of any action that could be judged undeserved or unacceptable.

Is there anything we can do? I’ve gone to nearly every march and written to my MP . How can the west stand by and let them get away with murder? BDSbarb

It seems to me that the biggest superpower in the world is Israel and the USA is its main vassal state. The rest of the western empire just tag along. The tail now truly, wags the dog.

The zionist entity is the mad dog and the US's proxy, doing its "dirty work." The US doesn't get a free pass, for its "misdeeds." Free free Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

While ever Israel is given the best meat (trillions in aid) while American citizens get bare bones (no wage growth, health care, infrastructure falling into ruin etc), I'll stand by my assessment.

Harry's avatar

I won't quibble about the amount, but whatever it is, most US military aid 'to' Israel goes straight to US arms manufacturers, and The National Interest™ is not the interests of citizens, but of big business.

Harry's avatar

It’s crucial to emphasise that the State of Palestine Britain and other countries are currently threatening to recognise mustn’t control how to govern or defend itself. Its entire raison d’etre is to make Israeli Jews feel safe from The Demographic Time Bomb™ that threatens their status as the majority. In other words, the state achieving recognition is not really a state at all, or at least not the kind where the Palestinian People can enjoy the right to self determination, as The Two State ‘Solution’ purportedly envisages.

But recognition is not just a meaningless gesture. What it means is that, for one thing, we endorse segregating ethnic populations into separate states, which is characteristic of apartheid. For another, we accept Israel’s ‘right to exist’, and specifically as a Jewish state. And finally, we embrace the quisling PA (whose mandate expired in 1999 and does not poll well among Palestinians, to say the least, in the here and now), as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian People, probably including several million stateless refugees. I wouldn’t feel comfortable making demands that secrete such noisome implications (https://bureauofcounterpropaganda.substack.com/p/strike-up-the-band; https://bureauofcounterpropaganda.substack.com/p/compelling-logic)

Apart from that, isn’t it kind of weird that The State Of Palestine, which 147 UN member states and the UNGA already recognise, doesn’t render The Two State ‘Solution’ a fait accompli? If the objective of The TSS, for all its legion faults (https://bureauofcounterpropaganda.substack.com/p/how-many-states), is, as stated, to *create* a Palestinian state, then how can recognition of Palestine be a ‘way of building momentum towards a two-state solution’? Those who recognise The State of Palestine, or demand it, or excoriate it for that matter, don’t actually believe it exists! And the media report this inane gibberish as if it didn’t require comment and those who rely on them presumably accept that it somehow makes sense?

Current NY header reads: "Starvation in Gaza." The article itself contains some Israeli govt. friendly material, but that won't lessen the impact.

Yesterday NBC had "Starvation in Gaza Divides Many Jewish Americans" and the opening sentence starts with: "Heartbreaking images of children starving in Gaza..." Sure, it's late, but it both acknowledges reality in Gaza and shows Jewish people aren't at all the same as Zionist Israelis.

Point is reporters are getting past the de facto censorship. Too much info, too much evidence, for 1%er owned, corporate controlled MSM to maintain denial.

Doesn't mean they aren't still trying. Nor does it deter Christofascist supporters. USA Today (center-right) headline "Israel ambassador Mike Huckabee says 'Hamas could use some Ozempic.'" Ha ha. But the first sentence of the article is: "Amid mass starvation in Gaza, the U.S. ambassador to Israel said the leaders of Hamas aren't anything close to the famine-like conditions civilians are enduring." The writer's 1st clause says it all. And merely by reporting objectively, we are shown how thick-witted, callous, and uncharitable right wing religious zealots actually are.

Raoul Christensen's avatar

"Heartbreaking images of children starving in Gaza..." isn't an acknowledgement of reality. The children are "being starved" by the Zionist entity. "Amid mass starvation in Gaza....?" Inflicted by whom? "Acknowledgement of reality?" "objective reporting?" I'm sorry, but until the media attributes the cause of the genocide and starvation, of the Palestinian people in Gaza, to the zionist perpetrators and their Western compradors, they're still complicit. Rafi Simonton's avatar

You're missing the point--which is that the wall against reporting anything at all in the U.S. and U.K. has been breached. Besides, I used qualifiers for each. Nor was I at all saying nothing else needs to be said.

As for "objective reporting," that was specifically in reference only to the quotation of Mike Huckabee. If you also reject as "objective" my descriptors, then do you think right wing religious zealots like him are intelligent, caring, and charitable?

The definition of prejudice is to consider all members of a group as interchangeable and to think blanket condemnations are okay. Like how to Zionists, every Palestinian is Hamas. Or like how you condemn "the media" with no nuance whatsoever. Are you aware "the media" includes what we're having this exchange on? And Al Jezeera? Also investigative reporters like the veterans Sy Hersch and Chris Hedges as well as websites like Consortium News (which often carries Jonathan Cook) and ScheerPost, all of whom have been reporting explicitly on the genocide in Gaza for years.

Raoul Christensen's avatar

Aroha mai, your points are well made and I'll read more carefully, your comments in future. Your mention of Chris Hedges and Consortium News, gives further weight to your reply. Free free Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

According to France’s foreign affairs minister, Jean-Noel Barrot: “Recognising a State of Palestine today means standing with the Palestinians who have chosen non-violence, who have renounced terrorism, and are prepared to recognise Israel.”

Diabolical. Is this by rote, no thinking needed? How does he manage to speak those words when - the west’s support of the State of Israel means standing with Israelis who have chosen violence, who embrace terrorism, and who have clearly and repeatedly said they are NOT prepared to recognise a Palestinian State - the endgame stated by Israeli ministers and many collaborators outside Israel is to disappear Palestinians - in whatever form that takes (even nukes have been suggested by Israel and a US Congress member).

An7's avatar

Fine said in an interview “We nuked the Japanese twice ... needs to be the same here." I also heard mention of three other members suggesting similar - name, sources and fact-checks can probably be found online.

That the Australian government ( AND Opposition ) refuse to acknowledge the facts of history of Palestine ,so brilliantly presented here , and continue to remain , effectively , under the boot of America and Israel is despicable . Their agenda of insulting the intelligence of the public by pushing the fantasy of a Two State Solution is despicable . The abandonment of human rights and the moral bankruptcy involved render them unfit for public office . Democracy is shrivelling by the hour , in full view.

I simply don’t understand, as I watch the daily slaughter on my TV, by whatever means available – be it bombs and bullets or starvation, why the State of Israel, which has been given so much and supported so magnificently, since 1948, is in reality, a 'monstrous state' and seemingly, unhelped to desist in what must, for humanity’s survival, ultimately, be its own destruction. We have witnessed, for 77 years, how it has occupied, controlled, terrorised and abused the Palestinians in the areas Israel was NOT given in 1948. This has been done by Israel, on a false 'defence' excuse. Horrifically and cynically, it has been done with only one aim - which the world can now so clearly see: namely, the entire region becomes the State of Israel.

Someone, please explain to Israel and its Government:

1. You are making the pretence of your insecurity into a reality because of what you are doing to your neighbours - all across the region and most particularly in Gaza and also the West Bank.

2. Even if you 'destroy' Hamas, because of what you have done to the innocent children, women and civilian men of Gaza, something worse than Hamas will rise up to bring you to the justice you deserve.

3. This is how human nature operates:

• We don’t like to see wickedness on this scale because it makes all humans feel unsafe;

• We want to see a people who have abused others in this fashion over such a very long time, to be punished and made to stop so they NEVER do such things again;

• We need to do this so no other people will even imagine to do such things in the future.

4. You MUST urgently know and accept the dreadful actions that happened on 7 October 2023 were the DIRECT result of your own actions against the Palestinian people for decades.

5. Israel, be very thankful it was only a 24-hour episode from those you have abused for so very long and not a much longer retribution.

6. What you have done since has completely shocked the entire world:

• it is definitely not defence,

• it is horrifically disproportionate,

• it is insane,

• it is utterly immoral,

7. Day by day, YOU, Israel’s Government, are deliberately making your country even less safe than it was on 6 October 2023 because of what you are doing and what you are being seen, on screens around the world, to be doing. Why? Do you have a self-destruct button? Have you asked your citizens if they are happy about it – never mind the rest of us?

For the peoples of the world: what makes it all 100% worse, is realising that Israel’s friends, most especially the Government of the US, but also the UK’s and some other Western countries, have armed and supported Israel to be able to do this. So, we can see the West is complicit in Israel’s genocide whilst, at the same time, castigating the Russians for their somewhat less totally immoral, but still disgraceful, behaviour in the Ukraine!!! We can see the world is: ”going to hell in a handcart”??

As just one Human Being, I beg: CAN ALL OF THIS JUST STOP - NOW!

I say this for the sake of my grandchildren, who are, like the children in Gaza, innocent and blameless.

WE BORNE THEM … WE MUST KEEP THEM SAFE.

Are you, our obnoxious military-minded governents, even giving a moment’s thought to the damage all this warefare/weaponry is doing to the planet they are going to inherit from us???

Are you only thinking about the money you are making from the sale of such evil items?

Did mankind give you permission to behave in this way?

We didn’t!

(Just in case someone wants to brand me as an ‘antisemite’, may I tell you all that, like the land Israel has possessed, it has also taken under its mantel the term ‘semite’ – in order to create a coersive ‘antisemite stick’ with which to silence any critics of israel’s conduct. Please Google ‘Semite’ and you will discover this term applies to/defines ALL the peoples “who speak or spoke a Semitic language, including the Jews and Arabs” and there is more, if you want to be fully informed. From where I’m sitting, killing fellow Semites in their tens of thousands (I’m being generous to only mention the last two years) is just about as “Antisemitic” as you can be, isn’t it??)

Never Forgive and Never Forget. The back pedalers and influencers now writing letters to the Pope after signing the actors-entertainers letter in support of Bidens collaboration with Netanyahu in October 2923, the letter which cited the lies of rape and beheaded babies. The influencers letter arrived after the bombing of Al Ahli hospital where the FakeraeLies dipped their toe in the water, lied and fabricated tape recordings and of course without being apprehended for this war crime their impunity now confirmed, the FakeraeLies went on to bomb hospitals with the entertainers and actors respect and approbation as illuminated in their letter to Biden. Boycott with all my soul and every fibre of my being until I die
