I stopped watching the BBC news over 20 years ago as I found myself shouting at the TV about the lies. When I found myself about to throw my book at the screen I stopped as I cherish my books. I have never watched the BBC news since.

No, I disagree with you re purpose of the BBC, it, like our political system has been hijacked (how it managed this I would very much like investigated, criminally), but the BBC is subject to viewer/licence payer input, is it not, so it is as much a failure of the British public to hold them to certain standards as it is the BBC Executive (?) ~ would the rhebsult have been different if every one had written into tge BBC and questioned how it's news dept was being run?
