There is something deeply wrong with humanity when a group of people that were the victim of genocide will commit genocide against another group of people!
Unfortunately trauma is passed on and the Victim turns Perpetrator. But many Jewish people can see this and are completely against it, they are always on the London marches, eg Holocaust Survivors against Genocide.
What Israel has done in Gaza in the last 590 days makes gas chambers look kind! Quick and painless! The whole world is horrified daily by the completely disproportionate response to 7 October, 2023 - a dreadful day of horror, but the result, sadly, of 75 years, 4 months, 24 days of provocation and abuse.
I never, ever thought there would be a day when the world would come to see the leader of Israel, the country created as reparation for the Holocaust of WW2, Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet, as people as wicked and depraved as Adolf Hitler and his henchmen.
Back in the 1940s the leaders of the world could claim not to know about the Concentration Camps contemporaneously. Today, with smart phones and the internet, the WHOLE world can see what the leaders of the Western world have caused in Gaza, with the provision of THEIR weapons to Israel.
I am British - the same age as Israel and the NHS!
When I was a child, no one in England talked about Auschwitz or Bergen-Belsen or indeed, any other concentration camp - adults tend not to tell children just how bad they can be, do they? In 1960, at my convent boarding school, we played a trick on our, to us, fuddy-duddy maths teacher, Sydney Inman. We went to the staff room with a handkerchief with his initials on it (School Infirmary), knocked on the door and asked to speak to him. We gave him the small lady’s hankie and said we thought it must be his. Very sweetly, he accepted it with grace and as he put his hand forward to take it, I noticed he had a number tattooed on his wrist. We asked him about it and he said he had been in a concentration camp a while before - I think it was Auschwitz. He explained very gently what he had lived through. We were totally and profoundly shocked and, even at my young age, I was utterly ashamed of myself - not just for our prank but also becoming aware of what people can do to each other.
It is truly horrible, as a human being, to see what we are capable of, isn’t it?
We all know, once we are over seven years old, what theft is; we know those we’ve stolen something from will want it back and will try to take it back. That is NOT terrorism - it is an attempt to achieve justice. Factor into that the reduced amount of land not directly stolen from the Palestinians being occupied, settled illegally and controlled by the original thieves doesn’t improve matters either, does it? I am totally amazed the West has created this and watched the inevitable consequences without a care for the Palestinians, the Israelis or indeed, world security - why?
Israel’s 77-year-long course of mistreating the Palestinian people will never, never, never bring it peace and security - everyone knows it, including the Israelis! It has totally traumatised the Palestinians and also, those poor young people, conscripted into the IDF, who have physically done the killing of innocent children, women and men, who will have to live with their consciences and sense of guilt for the rest of their lives and deal with the mental trauma it will create for them and their loved ones.
IT HAS TRAUMATISING THE ENTIRE WORLD FOR YEARS & YEARS & PARTICULARLY SINCE 8 OCTOBER 2023.
This is appalling; and shocking all right-thinking people around the world of whatever race, creed or colour … the species: human being. Telling them they are anti-semitic if they protest at this injustice just damages Israel even more.
Be a real friend to Israel, Mr Trump & Sir Keir … when you see a friend endangering themselves, you stop them from destroying themselves, don’t you? Enough is enough!
My parents were a Nurse and Doctor in WW2. I never dreamed that I would see happening again what they fought against and enshrined in International Law to prevent. Especially not our own Government supporting it! That's made me feel ashamed to be British, but now they are realising...or scared of being found Complicit.
The media wall of silence has only cracked because Israel and the Western colonial powers have won. It's a mopping-up operation. Gaza will be annexed. Its rightful inhabitants murdered or expelled.
After that, 3–5 years of revisionist history by a unanimous western colonial media will ensure the genocide will be whitewashed into, "tragic loss of life, but Israel had no choice."
Sorry, Jonathan. If ANY of these media had really had a change of heart, the wall of silence would have cracked a year ago. There has been no new information of any importance since then. The media just had to wait for permission from their zionist owners to say what little they are now saying.
Now that Israel's victory is safely assured, the zionists and other western colonial regimes have loosened the reins.
