Today I’m launching an addition to my Substack publication: a subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space Substack offers in its app, rather like a group chat or live hangout. Only my paid subscribers will be able to start a new thread, and only they will be able to decide who can reply to the threads they initiate: they may be open to all subscribers or solely to other paid subscribers.
It is the generosity of my paid subscribers that makes it possible for me to continue producing my kind of independent journalism. This is one small way I can say a big thank you to them.
I hope to remain hands off on individual threads. The only real rule is, please be respectful to others in what I’d like to be a friendly, shared space where like-minded people can exchange thoughts and ideas.
To join the chat group, you will need to download the Substack app, which is available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications and you won’t miss conversations as they happen.
Instructions on how to get started below:
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
Love reading your articles. This one on antisemitism is most timely.
So firstly thanks so much for continuing to be one of the all too few voices of sanity and reason. It must feel sometimes as though it’s all too much but please know how valued your work is.
Secondly the audio voiceover is HUGELY helpful to people like my partially sighted father. Thanks so much for thinking of people like him and I do hope this continues!
