By the way the League of Nations gave the territory they were ceded by the failed Ottoman Empire after WWI to the Arabs (Jordan) and the Jews (Israel). There is no Palestine country, no specific Palestine race or ethnicity. They are all Arabs.
Thank you once again. I have just been to a vigil for dead Palestinian journalists outside the BBC at Salford Quays. This week I have been monitoring the appalling Radio 4 news output, almost complete silence about the ICJ on Monday, but so much time for the rise in antisemitism based on statistics of Community Security Trust. And lots of time for Navalny but nothing for the Palestinian resistance. Not a word for the thousands of dead children but 5 minutes for the only possible atrocity: Hamas’ taking of hostages. The evil empire is completely naked. Thanks for pointing at it!
This is what 99.5% of the reporting on this situation looks like here in the US. It is nearly impossible for Americans who were not already concerned and educated about the apartheid state that existed in Palestine and was operated by Israel to get an accurate description of the situation on the ground. When today's veto on a ceasefire came down from the US it was not even covered on any of the major newspaper or news channels. The Guardian's US site did cover it but I have to point out that the majority of Americans are not getting their news from The Guardian. Too many "liberal" news agencies are doing their best to ignore the war crimes being carried out because of our government's blatant denial about the behavior of the Israeli administration and military. They are instead being even more vociferous in their canonization of Biden as all that is standing between us and Christofacism. Too bad Biden himself seems determined to act in ways that they would find unacceptable in any other candidate or administration prior to Trump. But they are choosing to forget that it was precisely due to the media treating Trump like a serious candidate and both-sides garbage equivocation that got Trump 24/7 coverage. They made that mess and now they are either sticking with it (Fox News), repeating the same mistakes they made last time and ignoring the very real interference AIPAC has accomplished across both parties and covering a presidential election that doesn't happen until November (CNN, most newspapers) or they are hammering on Progressives in advance for any hesitancy in supporting Biden as giving Donald Trump and his nefarious buffoonery another presidency, one that will be the end of American democracy. Never mind the war crimes, never mind destroying what small amount of global goodwill our government hadn't already squandered by using our security council veto power to force the opposite of democratic decision making onto the UN with our one veto overruling 13 votes FOR a ceasefire. It's almost like they realized the optics are completely fucked up so they sat on the story. I fucking hate everything about my country's politics. How about Biden acting like he gives a fuck about what voters want? Why don't they cover the fact that he's determined to hand Trump the election and not frame the only sane citizens as traitors and antisemites?

Great article again JC, but I was surprised you didn't mention one of the crucial necessities for the tunnels, namely smuggling food, medicine & fuel. A necessity for prisoners whose captors control EVERYTHING even calories consumed.
