"Here, in typical fashion, the Guardian falls over backwards to indulge the "feelings" of a few Jewish Arsenal fans because they "felt unsafe" and "betrayed" by their club for not more aggressively stopping protests last weekend at a Women’s Super League game by other fans over the complicity of the UK government in Gaza's genocide."

I hope that no Israel sympathiser has a feeling of being safe ever again. After what the Israeli government allowed to happen to Israeli citizens on 10/07/2023, and after what they have subjected Palestinian men, women and children alike to, they no longer deserve to have that feeling.

No No, the western media don't pander to anybody except their bosses, otherwise they are sacked. Their bosses are Oligarchs, who are part of the ruling elite. The mainstream western media is perhaps more heavily censored than the media in any other country. The independent media is small and has a small readership, so it doesn't reach many people. Western media moulds the minds of western people.

Nazis were also offended at criticism of their treatment of Jews, with consequences similar to those of respect for the feelings of genocidal Zionists.

The UK should and will be learned a lesson. A once powerful and proud empire will disappear in smoke and mayhem!

But you are firmly against Hamas, which is a terror organisation, right? You recognize the crimes committed on October 7th?

Notice that the elite parasites and its press try to lurch and force us from one major agenda to the other....Brexit, Covid, Ukraine, Cost of Living, Shortage of Energy and now Gaza. Strange how each of these mean more cash for them, a lot of cash that is, and a lot less for the people they are supposed to SERVE. This Israel thing: it's either that they are Biblically terrified or they're simply greedy.

Mr. Cook, one hopes you are not one of these 'extreme-right-wing-Muslim-fundamentalists' that little billionaire, unelected PM Richy Sunak (seed investor in Moderna Inc via Theleme Partners LLP) warned us about the other day... The horror...

For my entire life the media news was awash with stories about some terrorist doing some horrible act. American media never told the other side of the story about why these people have turned to violence. Not that turning to violence would be ever justified but at least we would understand the nuance of the backstory. Not until the internet enabled information to go out without being carefully censored through a handful of mainstream media outlets did we have the ability to learn the complicated past of middle east conflict. Now the behavior makes sense in human terms as did the issues in northern Ireland and countless other places. There are cracks in the censorship and it is good. Americans are finally becoming aware of the atrocities that our government is allowing to happen. I am encouraged by the voter uprising in Michigan and other states to come to show our leaders that we are unhappy with their representation.

"If we had not got so entirely used to it, we would immediately understand how completely nuts – and catastrophically inhumane – the coverage is." -- Absolutely. The "Propaganda Model" (Chomsky & Herman) was not just an academic exercise -- we have been softened up for the present dystopia, where Orwell's "blackwhite" is now conventional.

I am heartened by the pro Palestine protests around the globe which are not waning at all, I would say in the US they are increasing. (Any Americans please correct me if this is not so, I'm an Aussie).

George Galloway's victory must also be something to celebrate, is this the start of something bigger in the UK ?

The offended Jewish fans are wrong, and they know they’re wrong. Which is why they have “sensitivity” around the issue. If they were decent human beings, the mere sight of a Palestinian flag wouldn’t make them uncomfortable. If they weren’t wedded to an offensive, hateful ideology that anyone with an ounce of common sense would dismiss as wrong, they wouldn’t be “sensitive” to people calling for an end to a criminal exercise of mass violence and genocide on an industrial scale - (that is, a “holocaust”). If they didn’t place their hateful 19th Century ideology over and above their common humanity (impossible because Jews are the “Chosen People”) then they wouldn’t be sensitive and feel threatened when people presented them with the truth about the situation in Gaza or called for humanity to work together to prevent a genocide. But their ideology has no place for common humanity. Their ideology has no use for mercy, or compassion. Their ideology excludes from humanity anyone who isn’t a Jew.
