The parallel with Bosnia is chilling. True to form however, the timing is impeccable yet again. Rewind back to late January where the UNRWA allegations surfaced right on cue after the ICJ issued interim measures. And sure enough, accusations levelled upon less than 0.1 percent of their 13,000 staffers took centre stage over a plausible genocide.

And of course, the limelight craving beacons of morality (aka Western leaders) eagerly rushed to defund the only agency with the capacity and ability to deliver aid throughout Gaza as quickly as they could, without any regard for the alarm bells raised by the WFP, Oxfam and the likes in early-mid December warning of widespread starvation and imminent famine.

Despite its immense relevance, what followed was of little concern to the powers that be and their mouthpieces. UNRWA immediately fired all of the suspects. But then we came to learn that the names of these suspects was extracted through torture (https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2024-04-17/ty-article/.premium/unrwa-israeli-army-forced-staff-to-confess-ties-to-hamas-using-torture/0000018e-ed4f-d5d5-a59f-ef5f32280000). And now, according the former French foreign minister's report, turns out it was all just one big misunderstanding (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/4/22/no-evidence-of-unrwa-staff-links-terrorist-groups-independent-review).

By right, it should've been clear that the entire UNRWA affair was a smokescreen from the get go. For decades, UNRWA has been providing the Israelis a list of all its employees for vetting. Surely, if the UN body was brimming with "Hamas sympathisers," then there should've been mountains of evidence by now! But what did Catherine Colonna find? Nada! It's a long established fact that Israel regularly goes after the UNRWA, because it is the only obstacle standing in the way to prevent General Assembly Resolution 194 from becoming a relic of history. But then again, when did the factual and historical record on this issue ever matter to Western governments?

The truth is, this time tested deflection strategy works like charm. So is it really any surprise that we're seeing it at play again?

How much longer are the so-called Leaders of our Countries going to keep denying Genocide of the Palestinians.

What they don't understand in the myopic world is that we, the people get angrier by the day and the more they try to close us down the more we will fight.

Thanks Jonathan
