They are inherently unable to understand anything without recognising it from their training data, and to recognise it they must have seen it more than once for it to form a pattern, whereas we humans can learn something from hearing it once, and can still look at and accurately describe objects we don't understand and haven't seen before.
Now imagine given all of the above the obvious result when this technology is applied to intelligence, or to find out who to target for your genocide, when it cannot understand even basic logic, and when it makes things up and cannot always even figure out who is wearing a watch in a photo (but of course, it will confidently tell you the wrong person is wearing it).
