As you said, Israel has a long history of intentionally killing foreign aid workers and journalists. The WCK murders are eerily reminiscent of the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty, which was clearly marked (registered) and flying an American flag. Survivors were even strafed in the water in a cold-blooded attempt to leave no survivors. No level of Israeli depravity could ever again shock or surprise me.
And yes, the two-state solution is a delusional fantasy that Western leaders and US presidents use to deceive Israel's critics into thinking they give a shit about what happens to Palestinians. What these unfortunate people have to look forward to is endless occupation--albeit a more intensively managed, intrusive, and brutal one. And there's not a damned thing the United States is going to do about it (except perhaps an endless series of strongly worded statements and expressions of impotent frustration).
