*Israel, going back decades, has played a duplicitous game. It signs a deal with the Palestinians that is to be implemented in phases. The first phase gives Israel what it wants — in this case the release of the Israeli hostages in Gaza — but Israel habitually fails to implement subsequent phases that would lead to a just and equitable peace.
It eventually provokes the Palestinians with indiscriminate armed assaults to retaliate, defines a Palestinian response as a provocation and abrogates the ceasefire deal to reignite the slaughter.
If this latest three-phase ceasefire deal is ratified — and there is no certainty that it will be by Israel — it will, I expect, be little more than a presidential inauguration bombing pause.

Starmer’s speech was sickening in the extreme. What happened to his understanding of “human rights”? I hope there are enough emotionally intelligent and aware people out there to see through this continual and endless propaganda.
The BBC still supports Israel unequivocally despite the International Court of Justice condemnations! Only yesterday Sarah Montague on Radio 4 World at One AGAIN proved her bias when interviewing the Israeli spokeswoman (who has lied before). This spokeswoman again said "Israeli forces protect Palestinian civilians" which has been proved to be false! Montague thanked this blatant liar and even said she "is always welcome"! This big lie is being broadcast around the world and many people will of course believe it to be the truth because it is the BBC. BTW recently the BBC broadcast an advert claiming to be a trusted source of truth and warning about disinformation! This is Orwellian. The propaganda advert must have cost the BBC a lot and considering it is funded by the licence fee payer it's a slap in the face for all who are frustrated by continuing BBC bias and downright lies.
