Appreciate your views and opens my eyes to a paper that I once had respect for.

Desertion of good journalism and journalists simply for money is disgusting.

Without string independently minded journalists how can we make valid appraisals of the news.

Key to a healthy democracy.

In my opinion, your review of this issue of the Julian Assange case is thorough, excellent and clear. It was a huge miscarriage of justice! It appears that any news that embarrasses the American government will be met with dire consequences. I pray that Justice will prevail

Couldn't agree more. Started monthly for the Guardian about a year and a half ago thinking proper journalism was under attack and needed support. Quickly realized our error after October 7th and cancelled. Now we support independent media only, but they keep getting thrown in jail. Seems like we can't win.

I'm hoping Mr Cook might venture across the Atlantic and turn his keen eye to the shooting of the United Healthcare CEO, the aftermath and the response to it. I'd be keen to read or hear his analysis.

Do a podcast, Cookie! You'd be ace! (sorry about the familiar use of "Cookie", if that offends)

Can you recommend any way we can show our displeasure with them?

Why is Jonathan Cook not one of the UK's most prominent journalists? We all know the answer why, but it's certainly not because he lacks pinpoint analysis, brilliant writing, compelling storytelling and superb overviews of the factual background to any article he writes. Ugh, some of the dreck masquerading as journalists forced upon us by mainstream media gauleiters is enough to make you bring up your breakfast/smash the screen on which they appear/both. Cookie should be a household-frigging-name by now.

Thank you Jonathan, I have forwarded your article on to some friends who still think The Guardian is the one paper they can trust, I think most people don't have any idea that the Western media is controlled by the elites and when I say this to people, they think I'm a 'conspiracy theorist', so your article helps, thank you x
