I am missing Jonathan's latest article. I hope to become a paid subscriber. Have told my son to pay for it. I don't have this online payment app.

Jonathan confirms what one believes. The UK and all NATO member countries must be under a secret commitment to always follow the NATO diktat. I say start a crowd - funding to prepare and circulate an audio -video to inform us about the Palestinians' Cause.. How would one feel if one was driven out of one's ancestral land?

Oh, so this is the litmus test? Starmer? Give us a break.

Using census and other government data, they estimated that excess deaths caused by the policies of the British regime could be between 60 million and 165 million, depending on different benchmarks.

What are you talking about?

Starmer made a list of promises when he stood for Labour leadership. One of the promises was “No more illegal wars. Review UK arms sales and make us a force for international peace and justice “

…….nuff said

I didn't know that. So who is left? And I mean Left.

Two items inexplicably missing from the King's speech at the opening of Parliament.

My Government will pursue an ethical foreign policy and extend Sanctions to Israel if West Bank settlements are not stopped.

My Government will cease to hold political prisoners at the request of the US, and release Julian Assange.

It will take a politician of great bravery to balk against the U.S. that has no compunction in killing to maintain its hegemonic position, even presidents ffs. The establishment in the UK is an equal force for evil. We nearly got there with Jeremy Corbyn but that was ended by nefarious forces. It’s difficult to imagine someone stepping up to the plate. Starmer just funnels some left wingers into a cul de sac whilst ejecting others. I am an older left winger, tired of the fight. 😞

Small question: If the UK government is so firmly in the pocket of Washington, why has it taken them so long to extradite Assange? Assange's ordeal has been excruciatingly long. Time to free him.

Because they would prefer Assange be forgotten (or die in detention) than be put on trial, even a sham one, where he will gain attention and where some of the facts might even get aired.

I think that's right Jonathan.

Thanks for your reply. I'm reminded of the saying, "justice delayed is justice denied". I doubt the war mongers care about justice.

Thank you Jonathan for your excellent analysis and commentary. Our only hope is that the heinous genocidal bombing of civilians and children in Gaza, in Palestine will be the undoing of the compromised psychopaths like Starmer and others of his ilk who are supporting and enabling these war crimes.

There absolutely must be an immediate ceasefire.

How sad to see that the British politics is now completely subservient to Washington. Thanks for your insightful articles

War, under international law, is a legitimate organized mass murder. Israel is at war with Palestine and vice, not virtue, versa! Any humanity stuck in between, all the atrocities, is just collateral damage in the BullShit name of Justice.

I read that Biden is in trouble as well, with house members of the Democrats calling for a cease fire and condemning Biden for his stance in this matter.

"This harmed Corbyn’s public image. But Starmer is doubtless equally worried by what were less visible but even more menacing threats directed by the British establishment at his predecessor. "

Actually, I don't think this is the case Jonathan. Starmer isn't worried by the actions of the British establishment; Starmer is the British establishment.

It is of note, I think, that Starmer only became a Labour MP in 2015 at the age of 52. He's a career lawyer and not a career politician. And I think it is no accident that he was selected to stand in a very safe Labour seat.

And I would also add that I think that Starmer was always going to be put forward as a potential leader of the Labour party at some point. And that this is something that was intended right from the start.

That may be true. But neither you nor I can prove it. It's just speculation, and therefore convinces no one but those already receptive to the argument. Better to make arguments you can prove – especially if they are just as damning as the arguments you can't prove.

Well, it's just my opinion. I think the constituency Starmer represents is clear enough, if perhaps a little difficult to define precisely.
