Israel wanted to return Gaza to Egypt when a peace agreement was signed with them but Egypt adamantly refused. what possible interests could the US or Israel have to deal with Gaza? All the fighting would end in a second if all the hostages were returned. There is nothing simpler but Hamas loves it when their people are killed and actually engineered all this so that Israel would kill as many of their people as possible so that people like you could blame Israel.
