In SA the Apartheid was not stopped by Outside sanctions or pressure. The Apartheid had to come to an end because there was an up rising of both black and white people. Yes, there were groups of black people who would blow up schools, churches, burn down buildings, rape and murder but the majority of them were peaceful and just wanted freedom. The white people saw this and wanted it too. I understand why Hamas retaliated but I don't understand the way they retaliated. They got the chance to break into Israel. They managed to shut down the Iron Dome for awhile. Why didn't Hamas focus on hitting where it hurt the IDF militarily? Why did they only focus on hitting the IDF where it hurt emotionally? The people who they attacked were on the Palestinians side. It was a peace music festival they attacked. These people could have risen up inside and pushed the IDF regime out like they did in SA whit the white military regime.
By doing Oct 7th Hamas destroyed the chance for the Apartheid there to come to a peaceful end like it did in SA. They didn't weaken the IDF military they strengthen it by making into an even more of an angry monster. It just was ill thought out and executed. That is the sad part.
