Don't blame me. I'm a Green in the USA since 1996. The proof we're having some positive effect is all the slander they muck out.

If Harris lost "because she's a woman and black", why was it necessary to replace Biden?

Biden was an white man, so the old halfwit should have been cruising to victory, right?

I think this is pertinent to our Earth.

I keep asking American's who make comments to please spell out ACRONYMS in the USA.

We on substack are not all Americans.

I just had quite a nasty comment about this. IF you don't understand Jenny go away.

THIS comment has made me realise how isolationist the US is.

Powerful incisive honest journalism of the very best kind that I can only get from Jonathan Cook or declassified UK.

Scapegoats indeed. The chaos we see around us today is what happens when a civilization is 50 years past its best-before date and now firmly in the throes of entropy, entering its death-cycle. The chaos we see out there - and that we pin on our politicians - is what happens when entropy, the laws of thermodynamics assert, when the energy starts fleeing the model and the pie really starts shrinking. With the pirates predictably working to hoard the loot. We are in grief, without most understanding this, over the dying of our civilization, now. The state of our politics is not behind this, it merely reflects the chaos the situation has created in us. Hence the extremity of everything now, including our reactions and our states of personal fragility. In a way, it is more comforting to pin things on mere scapegoats indeed than to acknowledge the reality today, the tacit message being “if we just get the right guy or gal in office, things can be turned around!” The truth is, no ballot cast is going to alter our trajectory, alter natural law. We’d better work on toughening up.

Love you Johnathan! I’ll quit my guardian subscription and subscribe here. After waking from yesterday’s events, it seems the conditions for bringing together a massive coalition of “left” movements & people may be ripe. We need to stop blaming and start organizing against what we know we face now. A strong left, pro Palestinian, anti war, social democratic, pro lgtbq, movement is needed now. Code Pink, Bernie folks, pro Palestine students, Squad followers, Green New Deal people, the anti gun kids—now the enemy is clear, the neoliberal Democratic Party is defunct, let’s get busy. ❤️

Thank you Jonathan. It is deeply disturbing, but not surprising. Neoliberalism and democracy are fundamentally incompatible. A neoliberal, tooth-and-claw vision for human society needs authoritarianism. We are living through a dark age already. But I do not blame the predators among us. No despot can do anything on their own. They need armies of collaborators, who are often among the most educated and highly decorated in society. We all have a role to play in this. As long as people believe that educated people are also automatically ethical, and enlightened, and as long as they think they do not have a say because people in power know better, we will continue to perpetuate the patterns humanity has always repeated. There is nothing new under the sun, but there is also nothing stopping us from changing direction. If people feel as awful as me about the Guardian for example, they need to boycott it. Having allowed ourselves to become ‘consumers’ and ‘economic units’, we can use that to exercise power. What passes as journalism these days feeds off our attention. It is easy to starve it of our attention. Thanks as always for writing the truth and so clearly too.

US Democrats are so stupid.

All they had to do was NOT FUND A GENOCIDE. They let everyone down - Palestinians, Americans, the world.

I understand that the Guardian was hijacked by Zionists or people with those sentiments. But where are all the editors and reporters who sit there doing nothing, and collaborating while knowing that the newspaper they work for has lost its way?…

Its up to Hoi polloi to boycott zionist media. Without an audience, advertiser's bungs will plummet. BBC licence payers will need to become 'ex-BBC licence payers'

Of course it was the Democrats who were going after real journalists, the "Biden administration " who were telling social media outlets who to censor. So Viner is yet again gaslighting her readers, because the Guardian is pro-censorship, pro-deplatforming anyone deemed to be "far-right" etc etc, as if the Graun is anywhere on the left. The Guardian is a handmaiden to power, and a staunch ally of the worst and nastiest UK government in my lifetime. So the headline of her no doubt ridiculous piece to her beloved sheeple raised a quiet laugh yesterday.

Biden-Harris administration isn’t just attacking journalists. It’s also using the FBI to persecute civil rights organisations in America that advocate minorities’ rights. One example is the Uhuru organisation led by Somali Yeshitela:

Excuse me for having spooks delete my comment?

So here it is again;

Yaye!

Someone, but I hear, if just "in the ether", many now are Speaking "THE HARDCOLD Facts" about not only the U.S., "swamp" of "Swampington D.C.," but of the long-ignored/denied/redacted Facts that the whole "western" econo-politikill systems and structures are PROVEN FAILURES.

And don't it show on streets populated with the drug-f*cked, Homeless, Unemployed, Sick and Encrazed MILLIONS of Citizens, just in big-cRapo America, as well as across the UNREGULATED forprofit "free-market" west!

And Jonathan here says it so well!

Thank You, Sire!

Today, (7th Nov Aust-time), it strikes me that while "colleged liberals" ("liberals" meaning "right-wing idiots party" in Australia), shudder on the POTUS2024 result, that Donald Trump's win is actually a positive, purely in it forcing possibly-cum-probably many millions across all so-called "allied nations of the U.S.A", to be forced off the mainstream politikill dope, and out to Protesting for the biggest corrections to at least, at first, "all western nations' politics"!

Almost laughably, even the middle-upper "college-class" pro-Democrats, the most comfortably-off socio-economic sector/s too, of course (hence "laughably") will have no choice but to bee-atch, not about the big global "system failure/s" issues, but merely, typically-selfishly, about "the TYRANT TRUMP" winning "their rightful" born-to-rule top of the pyramid position.

Managed correctly however, from within all media and spin doctor clubs, the legitimization of Dissent from "the deep state" many saw 2016 Trump trying to tackle, the appeasing of "the U.S., hard-fight" by this result, should open many closed doors to all "factions" in western nations and around the globe, to tge long-overdue REALPolitik Corrections now needed more than ever!

But? Be careful!

As Mad Max advised Furiosa;

"Hope..., is a mistake. If you can't fix what's broken......, you'll go insane..."

Nevertheless, (paranoid Feminists aside, but not excluded)...,

VIVA!

Or...;

LONG LIVE THE PROTEST!

JaRD.

Australia.

Preach Jonathan preach! You're absolutely spot on. Until wake up to the fact that both the Dems and the GOP, both Labour and the Tories are two sides of the same coin, the West will continue creating all sorts of bogeymen (immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+, Muslims you name it) to blame their problems on without ever fixing them, while those in power reap all the spoils.

This is a brilliant piece my friend! Thank you for sharing. The comparisons drawn with indirect rule during the colonial era, but patched up with more 'makeup' and 'window dressing' to make it seem more legitimate are absolutely spot on.
