They are in fact destroying international law to protect themselves

WaPo: "court has no business holding 'elected leaders of a democratic country' to account..." If the situation weren't so horrific, this would be prime dark humor.

It IS about "business;" like corporate war profiteering in the short run. The Dem/Lib/Labour parties don't consider the long run. They've become enablers of an econ system that defines away devastation of human communities and destruction of ecosystems as irrelevant externalities.

WHAT 'democracy'?! Usurpation of Dem/Lib/Labour parties by neolibs started in the late '70s, probably related to the '71 Powell Memo. They now represent only the ~20% admin and professional upper middle class. People useful to the 1%ers and corporations since as bureaucrats, they keep the system running. An egregious example being the process by which Harris was nominated. Not even the pretense of participation by us lessers.

Then add the horrific twist of a Dem party allied with neocons. Dedicated to their tunnel vision of a unipolar empire, obsessed with holding power no matter the cost. (Never mind no funds for domestic needs, never mind the threat to all life on Earth.) Their throwback either/or reasoning denies the post-Einstein realities of relativity, uncertainty, and multiplicities. For neocons, it's with us or against us. Good or evil. True or false--and whatever they say is true IS true, period. Therefore any opposition must be lying, evil enemies.

And with massive numbers of armaments and military power, who dares say no to their WMD blackmail? Never mind the illusions of empires were exploded over a century ago in WWI. Never mind the U.S. hasn't actually won any of the many invasive wars to take something from locals. Never mind that given all of the above, the clumsy justification of 'bringing democracy' is laughable.

In an interesting video last night Alexander Mercois suggested that the coup in South Korea was about democratically elected Koreans doing the bidding of the Korean population (over 80% against) in not using Korea's massive manufacturing capacity in supplying weapons to Ukraine. In other words, the Biden administration asked the Korean President to get parliament out of the way from obstructing Biden's wishes. He also thinks the supposed involvement of North Korean troops in the Kursk region in Russia, is a made up story to persuade the South Koreans to give more aid to Ukraine. It would explain a lot, as does your article here. Great work, Thanks.

Few people know that South Korea is among the top arms exporters in the world. If there is conflict somewhere, they are usually making money on it.

The darkness filling the vacuum created by the collapse of international rules, laws, institutions is no divine or satanic intervention: rather the consequence of the overwhelming majority of "us" in the US, UK, Europe etc being unwilling/fearful to exert our absolute right and power to remove the perfidious Governments and sham institutions that have replaced common sense ethics with neo liberal lies and nonsense. The Gaza Genocide is the most iconic recent example of "our" imagined impotence. "We" let "them" do it.

If you put any British PM in Starmer position they will do exactly the same thing. Which raises a question - why?

Expand full comment

Because if they would do anything else then…well….see how they made sure Corbyn would not be in position to be PM.

Same for Bernie Sanders in the U.S. Lesson is: you're with us or against us. ("Us" being neolib/neocon elite.) Any opposition is proof of enmity--it will not be tolerated.

Is there any possibility that Britain and the USA can be stopped? How about a global revolution? Thanks for keeping me up to date :-)

"Biden and Starmer are destroying international law to protect Israel’s genocide"

But they are God's chosen psychopaths!

A few days ago I thought again how stupid those people must be who believe the fairy tale of God's chosen psychopaths. I really don't get it.

They do get it, but think they can get away with it, just look at how Trump got elected. notwithstanding that both party's are one and the same Washington regime.
